Our program’s clinically proven orthopedic care pathways, coupled with our signature rehabilitation experience featuring the comforts and privacy of home, is an optimal option for your post-surgical rehabilitation.
With the ultimate goal of getting you home in a safe and efficient manner, our expedited program prepares you for the final step in your transition. Our specialty program average length of stay ranges between 5 and 10 days. Our comprehensive physical therapy & occupational therapy evaluations deem the most appropriate length of time dependent on the individuals specialized plan of care. Enjoy peace of mind knowing all staff are educated on the most up-to-date practices for orthopedic management, care and recovery.
Our programming includes an instrumental component to a fast-recovery, education. We ensure patients and families are educated on safe recovery from their acute spell of illness, while receiving care in post-acute setting. Our educational component teaches a patient how to safely care for themselves during their recovery, preventing re-hospitalization. Our in house dietician will assist you with a simple, yet effective diet and nutritional plan to expedite your recovery.

Pre-Surgery – Meet Our Team
Selection of your recovery plan and rehabilitation program is as important as selecting your surgeon and the best timing for your procedure. Our trained admission specialists take time to prepare you for post surgical needs through a scheduled complimentary consultation where you have the opportunity to:

- Meet Our Rehabilitation Team who will provide an overview of your anticipated treatment plan and what you can expect in your recovery
- Meet Our Discharge Planning Specialist who will assist you with planning your discharge from day one of your stay
- Select and Reserve Your Orthopedic Suite in our state of the art, fully renovated short term rehab unit
Post-Surgery – Transition & Initiation
Your surgical procedure has taken place. It is now the job of our trained professional team to assure a seamless and comfortable transition from the hospital while getting you started on your journey back home as quickly as possible.
Depending on the time of your hospital discharge and arrival to Aspen Hill Rehabilitation Center, you can expect a same day visit from our therapy team to make an initial post surgical assessment.
Your rehabilitation plan will quickly get moving with morning and afternoon multidisciplinary therapy sessions.

Led by Dr. Joshua Philbrick, our program’s clinically proven orthopedic care, coupled with our signature rehabilitation experience featuring all the comforts and privacy of home, makes it the perfect option for your post-surgical rehabilitation needs.
Benefits from our Orthopedic Program:
- Full suite of ACP modalities to aid in the treatment of pain, contractures, muscle spasms and muscle weakness
- Expert staff of treating clinicians including PTs, OTs, PTAs, COTAs and SLPs
- Oversight of program by our Orthopedic Medical Director who rounds with our Rehab Director weekly
- Therapy is offered up to 7 days a week, up to 3 hours daily – depending on insurance and patient tolerance
- Prior to discharge, patients are educated in energy conservation, fall prevention and recovery, and given a Home Exercise Program
Meet Your Orthopedic Specialist, Jasmine Torrey, PA-C:
Jasmine M. Torrey, PA-C, graduated from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2022 with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. She previously earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Northeastern University where she played on the women’s lacrosse team for 4 years. Jasmine has worked in various research positions throughout hospitals in Boston prior to earning her PA-C degree; most recently she worked for 3 years researching outcomes of various treatment modalities for venous thromboembolisms in the emergency department at MGH. Outside of the office Jasmine enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, scuba diving, and spending time with her family, friends, and new puppy.
